For the Record: Get (Awkwardly) Intimate with Robin Thicke
- In case you haven’t heard, Robin Thicke is trying to win back his estranged wife, actress Paula Patton. He’s talked about it publicly, he’s named his new album Paula, and now he has a new single titled “Get Her Back”, in which he talks about… getting her back. The track itself is a soulful love song, but the video is just a tad creepy, straddling the line between “Aww!” and “Ew.”:
- Yeah Yeah Yeahs vocalist Karen O has announced her first ever solo album, to be titled Crush Songs. And it’s just that – songs that she wrote of former crushes, which she describes as “the soundtrack to what was an ever continuing love crusade.” Karen O’s previous solo performances include “The Moon Song”, off the Her soundtrack and which earned her an Oscar nomination last year.
- The Weeknd finally has some new music out, and it’s expectedly chill and sexy and frankly kind of braggy:
- And The Gaslight Anthem have released “Rollin’ and Tumblin'”, the first single off upcoming album Get Hurt, due in August:
- Nobody does adorable, dreamy and over-enunciation quite like Owl City. Check out new track “Beautiful Times”, off the just released EP Ultraviolet:
- MTV is bringing back their hit television show Total Request Live for just one day, and it’s just for Ariana Grande. The episode will air from Times Square on July 2nd, and Grande will perform her hit single “Problem”, as well as new track “Break Free”. TRL had aired for ten years, between 1998 and 2008.
- Here’s one to make you feel ancient – Eminem‘s daughter Hailie, the subject of many a lyric by the rapper, just graduated high school. And with a 3.9 GPA, no less, so she’s probably also smarter than you.
