In Pictures: Le Petit Prince Comes to Life at the Dubai Opera House
The performance of Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince) at the Dubai Opera was absolutely brilliant! Based on the book by French aristocrat, writer, and aviator, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, the children’s book has captured the hearts of many since it appeared in 1943 and has continued on inspiring generations. Le Petit Prince’s cosmic and fantastic world featured stunning sets, costumes, and video mapping technology.
Le Petit Prince has a simple story; although it’s a children’s book, it’s also dedicated to adults to remind us all that there’s a little child within each one of us who can still see the magic in the world. The Little Prince’s message is to remind us of the importance of compassion and goodwill, to make the most out of little things, to value and appreciate friendships and special bonds, and to be responsible in looking after our planet and the environment. Finally, the prince’s advice is to always make heartfelt decisions. “And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye,” says the prince.
All the way from Paris to UAE’s Dubai Opera, Le Petit Prince’s performance was a first outside the French capital. Scroll down to see some of the beautiful pictures taken of the performance.
