Hind Rostom, the Egyptian darling dubbed the “Marylin Monroe of the Arab World,” has her jewelry collection up for sale at Sotheby’s. The queen of on-screen seduction is a hallmark in Egyptian cinema. She was known to be an avid jewelry collector, and could be seen back in the day roaming Europe’s and the world’s antiques and jewelry stores looking for rare finds. Her extensive collection boasts rare diamonds, rubies, and many precious gemstones and collectible pieces.
Pieces from the Hind Rostom rare jewelry collection are being offered up by her family for the first time to be seen by the public. Aficionados and jewelry collectors will get to see the eight items up for auction at Sotheby’s Magnificent & Noble Jewels auction in Geneva, to be held on the 10th of November. However, people will be able to see the lots up for sale at Sotheby’s Dubai before they get auctioned off at Geneva.
The pieces in Hind Rostom’s collection include a diamond and emerald bracelet esteemed to be worth around $27,000, and a pair of David Webb diamond cluster earrings, worth about $7,000.
The starlet did not just leave a legacy behind in jewelry, her notable impact on culture, cinema, and Egyptian heritage echoes till this day. She led her life with the motto “My Life Is Not for Sale,” and it’s true, as her life and work remain to be an inspiration.
