Here’s Why Idaho is The Home to World-Class Adventure Skiing Slopes
Looking for a fun, family-friendly ski adventure without crowded lift lines and all kinds of tourists? Look no further than the slopes of the mountains of Idaho. Off the beaten path, skiers can find huge bargains at the ski resorts here without long wait times. There’s no shortage of big mountains here in the Rockies. Idaho features sunny skies, snow-soaked background, and legendary steeps. The state has over 18,000 acres of ski resorts, making it one of the most desired ski destinations in North America.
One of the best ski resorts in Idaho is the Tamarack Resort. It’s situated 90 miles north of Boise and features the longest vertical drop in the state at 2,800 feet. The entire resort is being refurbished by a new owner and management. The upgrades will include more lifts and trails. Find delicious meals and drinks here at the local pub and stay the night after your last run at the lodge.
Tamarack Resort features seven different lifts, 50 runs, and three terrain parks for snowboarders. This ski resort has something for everyone, from slow and smooth runs for beginners to very challenging black diamond slopes. Ski down Nordic and snowshoe trails while enjoying beautiful views of nearby Lake Cascade. You can also rent ski helmets, snowboards, boots, and everything else needed for your ski trip.
Take advantage of the new all-season Boundless Pass, which gives you the opportunity to discover the outdoors year-round. Passholders receive unlimited access to the slopes, bike park, mountain bike lessons, bike rentals, and paddleboards. The pass also includes free yoga classes and guided hikes from spring to fall. They also get the same benefits as the regular season pass including Bring a Friend Day and early access to events.
For a chance of pace, there is a rental shop where you can rent fat tire mountain bikes and take a trip through the snow.
For families, there is a daycare offering educational and fun childcare for kids six months and older. The daycare is a state-licensed childcare facility that offers a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Register for a full or half-day or simply drop off your kid anytime.
After a day on the slopes, head on down to the Spa at Tamarack for a variety of massages and spa experiences. Book the popular Alpenglow massage which is a full service massage that combines warm stones and signature essential oils. Or try Reiki energy therapy. There’s also a salty back scrub and mini facials. There’s something for everyone. Reservations are required so please book in advance.
The hotel features a large hot tub with beautiful views of the mountain and Lake Cascade. There’s a regular outdoor pool, locker rooms, fitness center, and WiFi.
