Officials have announced a new train line connecting the GCC’s two most influential countries, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The 21,000-kilometer line track will run through the Arabian Desert from Dubai to Riyadh, cutting down the travel time between the two countries to less than an hour.
With the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia opening the door to travelers for the first time in years through its newly-established tourist visa system, touring through the peninsula could not be easier. Now, if you are a resident of the UAE or happen to be there on vacation, you can now pack your things and in 48 minutes visit the Kingdom’s capital.
With its nation tasked with building its section of the track, The Gulf Railway Project aims to connect all member countries of the GCC, bringing the Arab World even closer.
In 2016, for undisclosed reasons, the UAE suspended construction. However, with the release of this announcement, it seems that both countries are back at it. According to TimeOut Dubai, construction is to be completed by the end of December 2021.
From captivating dunes pristine beaches both countries own a myriad of awe-inspiring landscapes. In addition, the entertainment industry is growing in Saudi Arabia while the UAE already has a well-established entertainment scene.
