From Hend Sabri to Ahmed Helmy, Here Are the Arabs Who Have Received the Faten Hamama Excellence Award at CIFF

Although many events were cancelled due to the spread of COVID-19, we’re lucky that the oldest running film festival in the Middle East and Africa, Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) is going to be held this year, marking its 42nd edition. Since 2015, the festival introduced the Faten Hamama Excellence Award, which was named after the iconic Egyptian actress who was referred to as the “Lady of the Arab Screen”. This year, Egypt’s sweetheart Mona Zaki will be receiving the award for her rich and influential cinematic career.
