For its First Edition, Egypt’s Aflemha Online Film Festival Celebrates Women in Cinema
For the first time in Egypt, a new online film festival will be launched presided over by the Egyptian actress, Samah Anwar. Under the theme ‘Stand Up and Shout’, Aflemha Online Film Festival will be held from 28th of January to the 4th of February, and is set to take place at the same time annually. Organized by the Cultural Development Fund, an arm of Egypt’s Ministry of Culture, the topic that will be the focus of the festival this year is ‘Women’s Cinema’. And as part of its first edition, the festival will honor Egyptian superstar, Youssra with a special awards
In the closing ceremony, Egypt’s Culture Ministry will award prizes between EGP 2-5k for best film, director, actress, actor, photography, screenplay, editing, in addition to an audience award and a special jury award.
