AlUla Skies Hot-Air Balloon Festival Is Flying Once Again This Month
The AlUla Skies Hot-air Balloon Festival’s second edition is returning this month. Kicking off on April 26, the 18-day festival is set to bring people together under the Arabian deserts as they watch the vibrant hot air balloons fly above them.
The daily hot-air balloon tours over North Hegra is giving travelers the full experience of the ancient town. In addition to the picturesque hot-air balloons, AlUla offers helicopter tours that soar above the desert giving passengers a 360-degree look at Alula’s ancient landmarks.
The festival’s outdoor cinema will also screen daily films under a starlit sky in addition to the launch of the AlUla jazz nights kicking off on May 5.
The chief tourism officer at Royal Commission for Alula, has spoken about the festival, saying “since ancient times, the sky has been a map for those who visited AlUla, as they were guided by the stars and the constellations to travel on the ancient incense trading route. Today we celebrate the history of the skies with events and offers that position AlUla Skies Festival as a must-do on travellers’ bucket list every year.”
