EXCLUSIVE: Khaled Abol Naga to Star in a Major Role on Game of Thrones
The fact that HBO’s Game of Thrones is a significant part of our pop-cultural landscape is undeniable. Most of us can rattle off at least a few House words (“HEAR ME ROAR”) and some of the more dedicated among us have even memorized the spelling of Targaryen.
The show’s seventh season is set to premiere on July 16, 2017. Everyone is already fangirling over the fact that Ed Sheeran is going to make a cameo on the epic fantasy series, but we here at Scoop Empire are fangirling over something else; Khaled Abol Naga.
The Egyptian actor has been very busy lately, with major appearances in FX’s hit show Tyrant, as well as History Channel’s Vikings, Abol Naga easily reigns over the Middle East’s Iron Throne of the entertainment industry. But he’s nowhere near stopping; in this Scoop Empire exclusive, Abol Naga tells us about his part in Game of Thrones’ newest season. “I can’t tell you much about my role in the show, but I can say that my character is going to stir some craziness on the third episode of the newest season,” Abol Naga tells us.
With us being the Game of Thrones fanatics that we are (aka we read every single one of the books), we kind of have a feeling that Abol Naga will be playing someone of Dornish origin. It kind of makes sense because Dorne is the closest thing to the Middle East in the A Song of Ice and Fire universe. Which leads us to believe that he might be playing Ser Gerold Dayne, known as Darkstar in the books.
