Egypt’s Saqqara Lands On Time’s 2023 World’s Greatest List
Giza’s Saqqara has been chosen on the World’s Greatest Places 2023 list, released by Time Magazine today along with 49 other honeypot locations in Europe, Latin America, Asia, and many more.
The magazine chooses spots based on nominations of places from their international network of correspondents and contributors. One thing these places have in common is they all offer new and exciting experiences for the tourism industry. Among the list was Familia Basilica in Barcelona, Yosemite National Park in California, and Naples, Italy.
Sustainability plays a big role as some destinations are enforcing more sustainable tourism practices to protect their natural beauty. For example, the Tuamotu Archipelago in French Polynesia is allowing only one foreign visitor per local resident.
Also from the Middle East, Morocco’s Rabat, Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea, UAE’S Sharjah, and Jordan’s Aqaba all made it to the list.
