DYAD: The Egyptian Styling Agency That Embraces All Body Types
DYAD is a fashion directing/styling agency founded by two Egyptian students Nancy El-Taher and Mariam Zahw — these two also happen to be best friends.
For their first project EVERYbody, they wanted to make a bold fashion statement as well as promote a beautiful message. The project features six girls of different shapes and sizes that have different kinds of beauties.
Their purpose was to emphasize the ever-changing beauty standards in Egypt, and in the world. We now live in a society that is shifting to be a more inclusive place to all women. EVERYbody is about empowerment of women and the celebration of fashion!
“We wanted to create a platform where we freely apply our vision and experiment. Fashion is a form of art and self-expression; this is why building a business where we can do that was a dream of ours,” they told us.
The rise of local designers and different talents today in Egypt inspired them and drove them to do their own thing.
“For EVERYbody’s shoot specifically, we were inspired by the strength and beauty of the women in our lives. Creating these pictures were an ode to women of all different beauties that might not be always celebrated today.”
