Celtic Fans Defy Club’s Orders By Waving Flags During Atletico Madrid Game
UEFA Champions League: Fans of the Scottish Celtic club have waved the Palestine flag yesterday during game against Atletico Madrid, defying the club’s stance on Palestine. This is despite the club issuing a plea for supports on Wednesday not to display political messages or banners relating to the current Palestine-Israel conflict.
The ultras ‘Green Brigade’ on the other hand previously urged fans to “courageously fly the Palestinian Flag.”

Celtic club was already fined for fans waving Palestine flags on previous occasions and is currently at risk of a heavy fine from UEFA. Moreover, a similar display of Palestine flag is planned for Tuesday during Celtic’s meeting with Atletico Madrid.
This week, Liverpool fans held up Palestine flags during match against Everton, and banners that read “For God’s sake, save Gaza.”
