UAE Peeps! Download This App Designed to Protect You and Your Loved Ones From COVID-19
Since the beginning of the outbreak, the UAE has been one of the top countries when it comes to putting in all its efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19. To support and protect its community, the Ministry of Health and Prevention, Abu Dhabi Health Authority, and Dubai Health Authority developed AL Hosn App to trace undetected carriers of coronavirus. Al Hosn is a free app, available on Google Play Store and iOS App Store.
Medical staff across the country urged the public to download the app, stressing its importance in helping them trace undetected carriers. The UAE government also announced a fine of AED 10,000 for not downloading the app, whilst under quarantine.
How it works
Once you download it and register, you receive a QR code. The app then alerts you if you are in contact with a COVID-19 carrier, while ensuring anonymity. The app uses contact tracing technology from your smart phone device, and uses your phone’s bluetooth signal to detect who else you’ve been in contact with.
Coronavirus tests in the UAE are now free for all Emiratis, people of determination, pregnant women, domestic workers in UAE households, people over the age of 50, people who have been in contact with positive cases, and anyone with COVID-119 symptoms.
