Sharjah’s International Book Fair is Still On This Year With a Mission to Get the Industry Back on Its Feet

Publishers from 73 different countries, including the UAE and Egypt, are expected to take part in the display content of the 39th annual Sharjah International Book Fair, which is produced under the patronage of the Emirate’s author-ruler, Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi by the Sharjah Book Authority under the direction of Ahmed Al Ameri.

The fair has been a symbol of a fresh start for the global publishing industry, especially after the pandemic led to the cancellation of some of the biggest book events internationally, so this is a great opportunity to revive the creative industry and keep up with the pace of change.

Starting from November 4th till the 14th, 317 professionals and 33 speakers are going to reunite in the one-of-a-kind global event of industry professionals which is considered to be an opportunity to explore the deeply needed collaborations and partnerships in our region.

The fair organizers are planning to provide the public with two options: attendees are able to attend either physically or online so that everyone can take part in it.

One thing that’s going to be missing from this year’s fair is the opening ceremony that’s traditionally hosted by Sheikh Sultan featuring a large audience filled with invited guests from around the world along with a presentation of the fair’s awards, but it’ll be postponed to 2021.
