Renowned Street Artist El Seed Takes on New Project at Ain El Helweh Refugee Camp
Abu Dhabi, UAE; October 22, 2019: Colourful walls that evoke feelings of optimism and energy now adorn the Ain El-Hilweh refugee camp in Southern Lebanon. A representation of French-Tunisian artist eL Seed’s in-depth perspective of coexistence, humanity, and peace. The artworks are part of his latest collaboration with social enterprise 81 Designs called ‘The Journey.’
Each of the seven murals, inspired by a poem by Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish, brings the message of hope and will be translated into traditional Palestinian embroidery Tatreez on canvas, handstitched by refugee women artisans. A symbolic tribute to the Year of Tolerance, the project will be presented at a 3D booth during the 11th edition of Abu Dhabi Art on 20-23 Nov 2019 at Manarat Al Saadiyat.
