Scoop Empire, based in Cairo, Egypt, runs internal software that its staff use to publish and measure content on the social media accounts Scoop Empire owns. Only Scoop Empire staff can sign in to it. This policy explains what that software accesses through the platforms’ official APIs, how that information is used and stored, and how it can be removed.
YouTube API Services
Our tools use YouTube API Services. By connecting a YouTube channel to them, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s use of your information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
A channel is connected only by its owner, and only channels Scoop Empire owns are connected. With the owner’s permission, our tools upload videos that our staff choose to that channel, and read the channel’s own details and its analytics: the same channel-wide and video-wide figures YouTube Studio shows the channel’s owner. We never receive information about individual viewers, commenters or subscribers.
Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
For the Facebook Pages, Instagram professional accounts and TikTok accounts that Scoop Empire owns, our tools use the platforms’ official APIs to publish the posts our staff prepare and to read how those posts and accounts perform. Where staff answer comments on our own posts, the comment and the name the platform attaches to it are kept alongside our reply. We do not read private or direct messages. For public benchmarking, we also read the public profile figures and public posts of other professional accounts that the platforms make available through their APIs; nothing private and nothing about individual followers.
How we use this information
Only to publish Scoop Empire’s own content and to show our staff how it is performing. We do not sell this information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone outside Scoop Empire.
Storage and security
The information is stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare, which encrypts it at rest. Platform access tokens are kept as server-side secrets and are never sent to a browser. Access is limited to signed-in Scoop Empire staff who have been granted it. Figures are refreshed regularly from the platforms so that what we hold matches what the platform reports.
Cookies
Our tools set a single cookie that keeps staff signed in, and use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect the sign-in page from automated attempts. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Disconnecting and deleting data
- A YouTube channel can be disconnected at any time, which immediately deletes its stored access tokens, figures and video details. A video removed from YouTube is removed from our records within about a day.
- You can revoke our access to a YouTube channel from your Google Account’s third-party access settings. We detect this within a few hours, and if the channel is not reconnected within seven days, everything we hold from the YouTube API for it is deleted automatically.
- Access for a Facebook Page or Instagram account can be removed from Facebook’s Business integrations settings or Instagram’s Apps and websites settings, and for TikTok from the app permissions in TikTok’s settings.
- To have any account’s data deleted, or with any question about this policy, email kareem@scoopempire.com. We delete it and confirm when it is done.
