Must Watch: An Inside Look at UFC’s Abu Dhabi Fight Island
The MMA world is setting their eyes and focus on Abu Dhabi as it’s set to host the anticipated series of events UFC Fight Island! We all know Fight Island will take place on Abu Dhabi’s beautiful Yas Island, hosting the first UFC 251 on the 12th of July, followed by three fight nights on the 16th, 19th, and 26th of July!
The official account of the Abu Dhabi Government Media Office posted a an exciting video that takes us on a tour to see the setting of the promising series of events! The video shows how organizers got ready to host Fight Island and showed the close collaboration of public and private sector stakeholders in Abu Dhabi to develop the safe zone for the 2,500 people involved in the event.
So far we know that the four events that will take place over 15 days will be compromised of 47 fights! Moreover, the headline of the event was supposed to be Nigerian Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman defending his title against Brazillian Gilbert Burns. But after Burns tested positive for the coronavirus, he was replaced by Jorge Masvidal from the USA.
Other big fights to look forward to is the featherweight title match between Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway, the bantamweight title bout between Petr Yan and Jose Aldo, and the flyweight title fight between Deiveson Figueiredo and Joseph Benavidez.
