In Photos: Egypt’s Women Rocking Cairo Stadium
While the world was highly anticipating the Africa Cup of Nations, social media took an unexpected turn. Egypt’s internet has been flooded with news about a certain football player and his sexual harassment allegations. The Warda saga has left Egyptians – mainly women – furious that the player got away with his unreciprocated sexual advances.
Today we choose to share the brighter side of women’s status in Egypt because they are killing it. Who said football is just for men? This season, the ladies are turning into football fanatics and are filling Cairo Stadium to cheer on our boys in red. The media hasn’t reported a single harassment incident so far and women of all ages seem to be having the time of their lives.
