French-Algerian Star Sofia Boutella Snags Role In Upcoming Horror Anthology
French-Algerian Star Sofia Boutella is on a roll with some exciting projects coming up soon.
During Netflix’s “Geeked Week,” the streaming service revealed that the “The Mummy” star will be joining a star-studded cast of director Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming horror anthology “Cabinet of Curiosities.”
Boutella is set to join Eric André, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Kate Micucci, Charlyne Yi Essie Davis, Rupert Grint, Andrew Lincoln, F. Murray Abraham, and Ben Barnes among others.
The upcoming horror series will have del Toro’s unique supervision as he’s handpicked certain directors to bring his terrifying anthology to life.
“Cabinet of Curiosities” will feature eight different stories. Two of which will have del Toro as a director; the rest, on the other hand, will have their own director who has a background in the world of horror.
The directors listed by Netflix include Jennifer Kent, Keith Thomas, Panos Cosmatos, and Vincenzo Natali. Joining them are David Prior, Catherine Hardwicke, and finally Ana Lily Amirpour.
We know little about the plot of the series so far, and we don’t have a release date, only that it’s coming sometime this year.
However, the news doesn’t stop there! Sofia Boutella revealed in a video that she’s working with “Justice League” director Zack Snyder on his upcoming space opera “Rebel Moon.”
They gave fans a glimpse of what to expect, explaining that the project will follow “a group of misfits who come together against all odds.”
Boutella also announced that there will be impressive special effects, aliens, and all kinds of crazy action.
Unfortunately, they’re also no exact release date, and they’re currently still in production.
