Four Inspirational Young Women with Down Syndrome Start Catering Business
Egypt is sadly known for offering limited opportunities to students or employees with special needs. There is always a social stigma surrounding it. Whether it’s Down syndrome, autism, or ADHD, parents struggle to provide their children with the best of what Egypt has to offer.
Four incredible women with Down syndrome took matters into their own hands by shattering these stereotypes. The Four Biscuits is a project that empowers youth with Down syndrome. The initiative helps participants develop their baking skills and sell their products in local markets.
Seba, Heidy, Menna and Sherihan are the four leading ladies running the show. Nada Ahmed was inspired by her sister, Seba, and her four friends to help them start the inspirational project. The catering business allows them to develop their skills as well as meet and communicate with others on a daily basis.
With the help of Ahmed, the European Cultural Foundation decided to support the cookies and biscuits project during a visit to Madrid in Spain last March.
The girls are overwhelmed by the public’s reaction and wish to establish a cafe solely for employees with Down syndrome. How inspirational!
