Egypt’s Environment Ministry Denies Forbes’ Claims About Cairo Being The Most Polluted City on Earth!
By Salma Maher
On Sunday, 2nd of September, the Egyptian Environment Ministry released a statement denying Forbes magazine’s allegations about Cairo being the most polluted city on Earth, in terms of light, noise, and air pollution.
The Ministry’s opposition stems from lack of proof on Forbes’ side, as the ministry mentioned that tests of that sort are to be performed throughout the year and only by the National Network for Monitoring Ambient Air Pollutants, an affiliate to the Environment Ministry.
In addition to criticizing the magazine’s sources for the study, the statement also highlighted the ministry’s annual reports posted on its websites with all the accurate information. As well as emphasizing the government’s efforts in improving air quality and increasing waste recycling levels.
