Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity is Leading a Much Needed Campaign to Save the Homeless

The newly appointed Minister of Social Solidarity, Nevine El-Kabbaj, launched a campaign on Saturday, to save the country’s homeless children and elderly, and offer them a better life.

To start the campaign, El-Kabbaj took a positive step and accompanied the street teams and mobile units in Cairo while approaching those without homes.

Those who refused to be taken to social care homes were provided with a meal and a blanket to keep them warm, and were visited several times in an effort to convince them to leave the street.

According to an official statement on Facebook, the Ministry highlighted that the campaign was launched this year, hoping to save the largest number of homeless people possible.

The ministry has allocated its hotline, 16439, and the Government Complaints Portal’s hotline, 16528, for anyone who sees a homeless person on the street and would like to act proactively.

WE SAID THIS: It’s time we all start acting as a community!
