Dubai Police Arrest Three Drug Trafficking Gangs And Seize DH32 Million Worth Of Narcotics

According to the Khaleej Times, the Dubai Police dismantled three drug trafficking organizations that had intended to bring 111kg of illegal drugs into the country. Drugs worth Dh32 million were seized, and 28 people of various nationalities were detained. More than half a million of Captagon tablets weighing 99 kg, and 12 kg of crystal meth, heroin, and cannabis were also discovered in this enormous drug bust. In a statement by Dubai’s police department, the Captagon tablets alone were found to be worth over Dh31 million by themselves.

Arabian Business, the three gangs were all busted in different operations. The first one was a well-thought-out ambush that resulted in the capture of three people. In the second operation, one individual was discovered in possession of 9.7kg of crystal meth and other manufacturing supplies where he was then busted for using an overseas mobile number to sell drugs.

The third operation focused on one man who had been using social media to advertise narcotics. When the suspect was apprehended with heroin capsules, he led the police to 23 additional individuals who were in possession of heroin and crystal meth. The Dubai Police in turn alerted the public to the growing drug menace on social media as the community is urged to exercise caution when responding to messages from untrustworthy sources.
