Behind the Wheels with Egyptian Professional Car Racer Haitham Samir

Professional car racer and drifter, Haitham Samir, 31, has won first place at STT time trials by STT Race Management on Saturday in Obour City, getting qualified for the next round on the 2nd of September in Dreamland.

Sponsored by Hype and OiLibya, Samir will be working on his car, Mitsubishi Evolution, to get ready for the next round in September. “The next round is a drifting race, which is at utmost importance; I need to be very well-prepared,” said Samir, who has been drifting ever since 2011.

Samir has been practicing since 2003, with no planning to participate in races, but five years later he found himself participating his first professional car race. “My car was relatively under-qualified in size and power, but despite that I did really well,” Samir told us. He got his Mitsubishi Evolution the following year, and it’s the car he uses up till this very moment.
