Dubai Is Building the World’s First Rotating Skyscraper
Dubai will soon have the world’s first rotating skyscraper. The idea for the revolutionary tower first surfaced way back in 2008, but the project was put on hold – until now.
The residents will be able to spin their apartments and control the speed of it too. Scheduled for a grand opening in 2020, the Dynamic Tower hotel is being planned since 2008 by Israeli-Italian architect David Fisher.
“It will never look the same,” said Fisher, speaking recently on Your Discover Science channel on YouTube. “The floor is rotating very smoothly. You don’t hear anything,” he said.
If you’re wondering how much it would cost to live in this sci-fi skyscraper, hold your breath! Each unit will cost around $30 million.
WE SAID THIS: Reaching a staggering 420 metres in height and covering an area of around 1.2 million square feet, the 80-storey structure will become the first 4D skyscraper in the world.
