Cairo Cinema Days is a film festival, organized by Zawya Cinema, that offers a hub for Independent Arab films that didn’t get the chance to be screened in theatres; but received praise at international Festivals.
It was stated that 34 films will be screened in selected cinemas in Midtown Cairo, Karim and Cimatheque, in addition to Zamalek cinema.
Movie geeks will be especially attracted to the Tunisian film, Ala Kaf Afrit, that was screened at Canes Film Festival. The movie is well known for tacking controversial issues such as sexual harassment and the struggles that Arab women face in their everyday lives.
Egypt is contributing with four films such as I Have A Picture, The City Will Pursue You, Happily Ever After, and The Wardrobe Man. Other countries like Lebanon, Qatar, and Bahrain will have their films screened starting this Monday.
