Our Top 10 Moments at Paris Haute Couture Week This Season

Paris being Paris, each season it has to host one extra Fashion Week ahead of all the others: the Haute Couture Week. Haute Couture is French for High Fashion and such weeks are meant to showcase the highest and fanciest form of sewing, dressmaking, and designing. For a brand to be aloud to be an “Haute Couture” house, it must follow a certain number of criteria including offering made-to-order private designs, having a workshop in Paris, presenting full collections each season etc.

This Spring Summer 2017 Haute Couture week is ending today and if you missed it, don’t worry about nothing ’cause we summed up what we think were the best moments for you…

  • The brand Vetements breaking some incomprehensible fashion habits and giving us the breath of fresh air we needed with models from all types, ages, styles, and beauties for their first ever couture show

  • Look 24 of John Galliano’s ‘Artisanal’ collection for Maison Margiela where he just took fashion to a whole new level, yet again

  • Lily-Rose Depp closing Chanel’s show on Karl Lagerfeld’s arm

  • Alessandra Ambrosio looking like a proper angel fallen from heaven closing Ralph & Russo’s show

  • …speaking about Alessandra, we have to say we particularly LOVED Mohieb Dahabieh’s video of her hotness at the afterparty dancing on Nelly’s beat

  • Dior’s labyrinth universe created by Maria Grazia Chiuri marking her first ever Haute Couture collection for the brand unveiling it the most exquisite way

  • Dior also probably won the best afterparty award of the Haute Couture week with their unbelievable Dior Ball post show…

  • Lebanese designer Georges Hobeika rocking his first show as a member of Paris’ Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture

  • Elie Saab playing a remix of Om Kalthoum’s Alf Layla We Layla during his show Pavillon Cambon

  • And Nancy Ajram being first row made it all the more about Arab Women Pride

  • Zuhair Murad bringing back Madonna’s 80s swag

  • Given the inspiring marches happening throughout the US, it was so nice to be reminded of the movement by so many people rocking their “We Should All Be Feminists” t-shirts from Dior this week…from Chiara Ferragni to Lana El Sahely

  • And to end on an Egyptian note, singer Lara Scandar attending the Ralph & Russo show
