Saudi Authorities Rescue 8 Children from Abusive Father
On November 25, Okaz newspaper reported that The Social Protection Unit in the Asir region joined forces with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, in efforts to save eight children from their abusive father.
The Unit has a duty towards protecting people from domestic violence — which is why they immediately began legal proceedings against the offending father; in the meantime, the children were delivered to the hospital for checkups.
A spokesman from the Ministry of Labor, Khaled Aba Al-Kheil, announced that the offender was referred to security authorities for inspection, which falls in line with anti-abuse laws.
