Lebanese-Italian Couple & Founders Of AB + AC Architects Present Art Installation At Milan Design Week

Picture a maze-like room made entirely of speckled mosaic columns raised atop pyramid like platforms. That is the creative vision behind the latest art installation by Italian designer Arianna Bavuso and Lebanese designer Andre Chedid that is getting displayed at Milan Design Week 2023. The young couple behind the innovative and futuristic room stand out among a pantheon of other successful architects for their artistry and excellence in design.

To create the installation, the two artists went into a long process of churning out several sketches. Beyond that to create the perfect mix for their mosaic piece, they also got their hands dirty by mixing up different grains of precious stone for that speckled finale.

This type of work is nothing new to the artists. Back in 2020, the two opened up their own studio called AB+AC Architects in Lisbon, Portugal. This came after more than 10 years of collaborative work with international award-winning firms such as Aires Mateus Arquitectos, Gehl Architects and Superimpose Architecture. Today, they continue to pave a name for themselves as ingenious creatives ready to take on any project.

To check their work for yourself, you can head to the Milan Design Week installation that will be open from April 18 to 23 at Foro Bonaparte 68.
