For all those who have to hop on the Ring road in order to go to work every day, rejoice, because things will get a whole lot easier! Finally, the Ministry of Transport has heard your calls!

The Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly and ministers of transport and communication issued a decree on Sunday stating that heavy trucks are banned from driving on Cairo’s main ring road starting mid-September.

According to Egypt Today, Trucks will now only be allowed to access the new Regional Ring Road, which connects seven governorates with Cairo; Ismailia, Suez, Sharkeya, Qaliobya, Monofeya, Giza, and Fayom.

We’re not really sure if the ban came after all the accidents that took place on the ring road caused by those heavy trucks, but we’re just glad that they came up with the decision!

WE SAID THIS: Drive safely anyways!
