Nothing beats catching up with some old friends at the local coffee shop, especially if those friends are THE friends from, well, Friends. Which is why we’re very excited, but also not really, to bring you the news that NBC has recently announced that the cast will be reuniting for a two-hour special in February.

Here’s why we’re not really that excited: we’ve scoured the interwebz and found out that the NBC special won’t be a Friends reunion, but a tribute to longtime TV director James Burrows. The Friends cast will just be participating in it, as will the casts of Burrows’s other TV shows. According to Rolling Stone, NBC aren’t even sure if they’ll be able to get the whole cast in the same room at the same time.

That means this is less of a Friends reunion and more of a Friends reference. But hey, at least you’ll be able to see Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer all maybe in the same room together at maybe the same time. We hope we are wrong, but can you blame us for not having any high hopes whatsoever? WE ARE SO TIRED OF HAVING FRIENDS REUNION DREAMS GETTING CRUSHED AND THIS HAS HAPPENED SO MANY TIMES, OKAY?!?!
