Ooredoo has announced that it is making its super high-speed 4G network in Qatar free for customers as part of its 2014 “Year of Digital” campaign.
All Shahry pack and Hala Mobile Internet or Broadband Pack customers can activate free 4G permanently by sending the keyword “4G” to 121 for Hala and to 114 for Shahry.
4G is currently available in all populated areas of Qatar and runs three to six times faster than 3G Internet.
“Last year we launched Qatar’s fastest-ever 4G network, connected more than 100,000 customers to Ooredoo Fibre to homes, launched Business Fibre and drove innovation with our Ooredoo App,” Waleed Al-Sayed, Ooredoo’s Chief Operating Officer said.
“So this year, in celebration of our customers who helped us achieve all of this, we’re making 4G free to say thank you for your support and to kick off #OoredooSmart,” Al-Sayed explained.
Qatar has the highest Internet penetration in the Middle East and North Africa, and the tenth in the world.
