Egypt’s Tourism on the Rise: Hurray!
Minister of Tourism Hisham Zaazou has recently announced that Egypt’s tourism saw a 27% growth last year, pulling $7.5 billion into the country.
This growth is due to the 10 million tourists who came last year as opposed to the 9.5 million that vacationed in 2013.
According to Daily News Egypt: ” The number of nights spent by tourists in 2014, however, decreased to 94 million nights, compared to 97 million nights in 2013, according to Zaazou in a press conference held on Sunday.”
The game plan for 2015 is to increase tourism revenue to $10 billion dollars by concentrating on new markets from Egypt and places like Latin America and East and South Asia to encourage people to come and visit Egypt’s historical sites.
WE SAID THIS: Let’s hope the security situation stabilizes so we can reach these numbers!
