Egypt To Build Its Own Anti-Cancer Drug Factory

By Salma Maher

After meeting on Monday, September 17th, Minister of Military Production, Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al Assar, and Minister of Health, Hala Zayed, the two have discussed the possibility of establishing a factory devoted to producing cancer medication drugs, according to youm7.

This initiative comes as an attempt to cut the state’s expenses on importing the medications from abroad, as well as introducing the latest technologies in that field to Egypt, all while encouraging the localization of drug production in Egypt.

Among the organizations working on the project are “We Can” company in cooperation with the Ministry of Military Production, Tahya Misr Fund, Pharco Company, and other international companies. Another point discussed in the meeting was exporting the medicine to African countries around Egypt, facilitating the process of acquiring these drugs on the African citizens too, at a cheaper price.

WE SAID THIS: This could actually be great!
