Egypt Signs Waste Management Deal With UK’S BlueMac

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Egypt’s National Organisation for Military Production and the UK-based company BlueMac.

According to a statement by the British Embassy in Cairo, under the terms of agreement set out in the MoU, BlueMac will jointly manufacture, supply, and assemble waste management solutions in Egypt. In addition to waste control, the statement added that the deal will promote increased UK/Egypt cooperation in manufacturing waste-management machinery.

“I am delighted to witness the signing of this MoU. I am especially pleased to see that a world class company from Northern Ireland is supporting Egypt’s growing expertise in this sector. This newly agreed cooperation reflects our commitment to invest in Egypt and rest of Africa to fulfil our objective to be the largest G7 investor in Africa by 2022”, the UK’s trade envoy Sir Jeffrey Donaldson said.

Britain’s Ambassador to Egypt, Sir Geoffrey Adams, explained that the joint venture will encourage business and investment across a wide range of sectors in the country.
