Drones to Monitor Dubai Roads in 2017

Because Dubai is Dubai, and by that we mean perfectionists, they’ve decided to one up themselves once again. To monitor the traffic better and make sure accidents don’t happen, the RTA will start deploying drones on Dubai roads by mid 2017.

“This is part of RTA’s innovation,” Khaled Al Awadhi, RTA’s director of Automated Collection System, told Khaleej Times. “Drone deployment will begin in the second quarter of 2017 to monitor the streets and send back the information to the RTA control centre.”

Earlier this year, Dubai used drones to prevent people from committing suicide from tall buildings, as well as catch people who litter in the street.
