Construction on Dubai’s Aladdin City to Begin Next Year
The Municipality of Dubai seems to be getting one step closer to becoming an actual theme park. According to Emirates 24/7, construction on Aladdin City is set to begin next year. The project is said to be inspired by the stories of Sindbad and Aladdin.
“The project aims to develop towers to be the icons of legends of the past with a touch of beauty and tourism characteristic of the city. It comes in the prime location of Dubai Creek maintaining the activities of the port heritage,” Director-General Hussain Nasser Lootah explained.
Aladdin City will house commercial and hotel space in three towers connected by air-conditioned bridges with moving floors. Apparently, the bridges are supposed to represent “exotic marine life such as dragon and snakes”. Um, OK.
