Concerts in Dubai Will Never be the Same After the Opening of Dubai Arena in 2019
The long-awaited Dubai Arena is finally coming to life next year, and we’re excited! As leading developer, Meraas announced that the mega-project is on track to open on its expected date in 2019. This will be hands down THE all-purpose air-conditioned indoor arena in the Middle East.
The arena is expected to totally revolutionize the show business industry in the UAE! It is set to accommodate over 17,000 guests for concerts, festivals, conferences, exhibitions, and a variety of sports events like hockey, boxing, basketball, and more.
The developer added that the work on external infrastructure and landscaping, including paving and parking spaces, was underway, and that the finishing touches were also being made to the first of the arena’s 46 hospitality suites. The arena will be operated by AEG Ogden, who also operate the O2 Arena in London.
Chairman of the Meraas Group, Abdulla Al Habbai, said, “We are confident that Dubai Arena will position the city on the international entertainment touring circuit and the audiences will have the opportunity to witness the world’s most talented performers and sporting events in the heart of Dubai.”
According to Khaleej Times, the roof at Dubai Arena is expected to be completed and made watertight before the end of the year, to allow the final acoustic checks to commence.
