Bahrain Just Aced The West Asian Olympics Making All Arabs Proud!

The Middle East continues to surprise us when it comes to sports and our latest pride is Bahrain’s medal haul yesterday at the third West Asian Athletics Championships. The championships were held in Amman, Jordan and Bahrain’s national team won 16 medals on the first day alone. According to Bahrain’s Athletics Association, eight of the medals were gold, seven were silver and one was bronze which is an amazing gain for the national team.

According to Gulf Insider, on the second day, the Bahrainis added four medals to their haul, bringing home 20 medals in all, 10 of which are gold. Among the athletes who won gold medals, were Salwa Eid Naser, Hajar Al Ameeri, Abbas Abubaker and Sadek Mikhou. Moreover, Eman Isa clinched the silver medal along with Abdulrahman Khamis and Mohamed Tiouali. Bahrain was in Amman with a total of 36 athletes in various disciplines. Bahrain’s elite international athletes are using these West Asian championships not only to achieve glory for Bahrain but also to help prepare themselves for the upcoming 18th Asian Games taking place next month in Indonesia.
