Are You an Aspiring Film Producer in the Middle East? Well CIFF Just Hooked You up

The U.S. Embassy in Cairo has just announced that Film Independent and the Middle East Media Initiative (MEMI) will be participating in the second edition of Cairo Industry Days during the highly-anticipated Cairo International Film Festival. The two entities will hold a number of workshops and events between the 21st and the 25th of November.

Cairo Industry Days 2019 welcomes Heather Rae, the producer of the Oscar-nominated film Frozen River; Kelly Thomas, winner of the Spirit Award; Eric D’Arbeloff, Co-President, and Co-Founder of Roadside Attractions, a company that innovates creative theatrical releases for high speciality films. The three producers will organize a four-day workshop to help aspiring Egyptian filmmakers learn more about financing strategies and distribution models. At the end of the workshop, each participant will come forward with a pitch in a simulated session, and the film mentors are going to be providing feedback.

Film Independent is a non-profit visual arts organization that supports ambitious visual storytellers as well as other artists who demonstrate diversity, innovation, and uniqueness of vision.

Simultaneously, MEMI will hold a session hosting top Arab and U.S. TV executives and content producers in a three-day event from the 23rd to the 25th of November. Here, the first-ever Arab TV pitch will take place as content creators will present proposals to prominent international and regional buyers.
