Ahmed Malek, The Sensational Talent To Join The Cast of The English Series Boiling Point

Young and brilliant, actor Ahmed Malek has joined the cast of the BBC series Boiling Point, filming on the all-new five-part television series for BBC One and BBC iPlayer gets underway in Manchester. Philip Barantini and Lebanese director Mounia Akl, who helmed “Costa Brava, Lebanon” in 2021, will co-direct the series. The series is a continuation of the award-winning movie “Boiling Point” (2021) which follows restaurant head chef Andy (Stephen Graham), who manages his employees on the busiest days of the year. The film scored four BAFTA nominations and 11 BIFA nominations as well as four Taormina Film Festival Awards.

As announced by Broadcast Pro, Vinette Robinson (Carly), Stephen Graham (Andy) and Hannah Walters (Emily) will reprise their roles from the multi-award-winning film. They will be joined by the new cast members including; Stephen Odubola (Johnny), Shaun Fagan (Bolton), Joel MacCormack (Liam), and Ahmed Malek (Musa).

This is not the first time that Malek has appeared in a global production; among his most recent foreign projects is Sally El Hosaini’s “The Swimmers,” which debuted at the 47th Toronto International Film Festival and is presently streaming on Netflix as well as his part in Roderick MacKay’s 2020 Australian film “The Furnace.” In addition, Malek received a nomination for Best Leading Actor for this performance from Australia’s AACTA (the equivalent of the Oscars in the United States and the BAFTA in the United Kingdom) in 2021.

Malek is also known for his role in Sheikh Jackson, which featured Maged El-Kidwani & Ahmed El Fishawy and was directed by renowned Egyptian Director Amr Salama where the movie was nominated for the People’s Choice Award in the Toronto International Film Festival.
