We Headed to the Premiere of ’30 Years Ago’ with Huawei and This Is What Happened
We entered Eid al-Fitr with a big artsy bang as we headed towards Massah Hotel with mobile giants, Huawei, for the premiere of 30 Years Ago. Because watching a movie before everybody else isn’t enough, we also mingled with the stars, quite literally. From Mohamed Hamaki to Latifa, Ahmed El-Sakka, Sherif Mounir, and more, all thanks to Huawei for organizing the whole shebang.
The movie tells the story of a family who inherits a huge sum of money from their grandfather (which explains why everyone in the movie has a Huawei phone), but here’s the catch! The money is cursed, and some members start getting murdered. We’re not going to delve more into the movie so we don’t spoil it for moviegoers but Mona Zaki was our favorite part. She was absolutely adorable and hilarious; her way of talking and moves got us laughing hard through the whole movie. We were also kind of sad for Jamila Awad’s very really small role in the movie. We wished there was more of her.
After the movie ended, the fangirls who live inside us could not take it no more and resist Snapchatting the celebs. We’d like to apologize for Hamaki for forcing him to Face-Swap with us. Huawei wasn’t content with just throwing this amazing night, they had to one up themselves and give all the stars their latest phone: P9. If that’s not amazing, we don’t know what is. Our last advice for the movie is, honestly, go watch it. It won’t be remembered as the best, but you’ll be in for a treat. And the best thing about it is that it’s not a Sobky movie.
WE SAID THIS: We are really sorry, Hamaki…
