Gen Abdulfattah al-Sisi says US ‘turned its back’
We all know the amazing, most respected man in Egypt’s history, Gen Abdulfattah al-Sisi, whom he and his troops removed president Morsi, since then there has been nothing but violence between the military and the ousted Islamist president Morsi’s supporters.
In an interview with the Washington Post, Gen al-Sisi said “You left the Egyptians. You turned your back on the Egyptians and they won’t forget that.”
Since Gen Sisi took control on July 3, the US drew a red line, and refused to call his actions “a coup” and continued payments of the $1.3 billion of aid it gives Egypt each year. On the other hand, the US still criticized the army for arresting Morsi and hundreds of Muslim brotherhood leaders that were supporting him.
Gen al-Sisi explained that he and his officers had no choice, I quote “I expected if we didn’t intervene, it would have turned into a civil war.”
Thank to John Kerry, the US secretary of state, who stated that the army has responded to the popular will of the Egyptian people and was in the process of “restoring democracy”.
We all know what Gen al-Sisi wants for this country, not only has he proved it with his words, but his actions, need I say more?
