Egypt Listed Last When it Comes to Security & Safety
We cringe whenever we hear Egypt’s name in the news, it’s become a very rare sight when you read or hear anything one can be proud of. Unfortunately this piece of news is not one that will make you lift your heads proud, but rather shake it in shame.
Egypt has fallen to the bottom of the World Economic Forum’s Travel & Tourism index in terms of safety and security. To put that statement into perspective Egypt has been ranked less safe than Pakistan, Chad, and Yemen! (If that doesn’t mean anything to you, let us clarify, Egypt is officially the least safe country in the world!)
Out of a 140 countries evaluated, Egypt has fallen to the bottom of the list. Due to the security fears and political turmoil the tourism sector has been adversely affected as well as the country’s own citizens suffering from the situation.
As for those making the safest countries list, the UAE, Qatar, Israel, Bahrain and Oman represent the top five countries in terms of T&T competitiveness in the MENA region, while Switzerland, Germany, Austria, the UK and the US top the global list.
We Said This: You know you have it bad, when Israel is deemed safer than you!
