As we approach the holiday season, we are all excitedly looking forward to the upcoming Easter holiday, or “Sham El-Nessim” as it is called in Egypt. It is the ancient Egyptian celebration that dates back to at least 2700 BCE and is now celebrated as a spring holiday. Each year, families would come together and celebrate by taking part in an activity packed with creativity known to many as the Easter egg coloring tradition.

According to history, because eggs have such a deep connection to creation, it was only natural for nations to include eggs in celebrations and festivals commemorating the renewal of life on Earth. So this year, as you take part in this egg-fueled activity, why not make it even more fun and try out new ways to color and decorate your eggs.

Rice Shake Eggs

What we like best about the rice shake eggs approach is how simple they are to make and how easy they are to clean up. This is because of how the entire mess will be contained within a Ziploc bag. To get started, you’ll need to get some rice, food coloring, a spoon, and a Ziploc bag. Then just place the egg in the bag with the rice and food coloring, shake it around, and you’ll have yourself some easily painted eggs with beautiful patterns.

Blueberry Dye Eggs

Are you a huge fan of the color blue? This is the way to go if you really want a natural soft blue tint on your Easter eggs. To create this look, mix together blueberries, water, and distilled white vinegar. Then dunk your eggs into the mixture and your finished product will have that sprinkled, natural blue look with varied tones.

Melted Crayon Eggs

Yes, we know that crayons are supposed to be used for coloring, but here is another one of those Easter egg dyeing ideas that may seem unusual at first, but end up looking great at the end. It’s one of the most unique and enjoyable methods to color Easter eggs. Simply boil the eggs, remove them from the heat without allowing them to cool, and then grab a crayon and begin your artistic journey. The wax will melt easily on the egg shell allowing you to create amazing designs with a fun mix of colors.

Marbleized Eggs With Cream

This one, in our opinion, is the most inventive and entertaining way to decorate an egg that will leave you with a stunning and colorful marbleized finished look. To get started, you’ll need to mix neon food coloring with shaving cream or whipped cream. Whipped cream is a great option if you want your eggs to stay edible. Once the two are mixed, all you’ll have to do is roll your eggs into the mixture. We guarantee that once they’ve dried up, they’ll have that cool marbleized effect similar to a spiraled galaxy.

Glossy Bright Eggs

This method is great for people who want want to add a glossy touch to their solid-colored Easter eggs. To achieve this look, all you’ll have to do is mix together vinegar, food coloring, and cooking oil. Then dunk your eggs into that mixture and let them soak in the dye. Just so you know, when peeling these eggs, your fingers will get a little dye on them but they can easily be washed up with some soap.

Whatever approach you go for, we can guarantee you that your Easter eggs will definitely stand out among the crowd!
