Under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Misr Italia Properties’ Javelin Sports Club, alongside Power Ride, will be launching the long anticipated 5th edition of the Ilbosco Galala Challenge! Running on full throttle on October 22nd, this challenge is known to be one for the mind, body, and soul.
Known to be the biggest and most reputable cycling event to take place throughout Egypt, the Ilbosco Galala Challenge sets off from Cairo, and the cyclists make their way towards the Sokhna Gate, and ascend upon the Galala mountain and all its glory. Given the 140 km distance, in addition to the 1000m height going up the mountain, the cyclists surely need nothing else but an ecstatic panoramic view where they can rest their weary legs, and allow their mind to reflect on the journey.
As for the challenge itself, it will be split up into two categories.
- The first challenge launches off from Cairo to the Sokhna Gate, and then towards the Galala City Gate, with a distance ranging of approximately 90 km.
2. The second challenge will be from Cairo towards Galala mountain.
If you think athletes are the only ones welcome to join in on this ride-along, then rejoice, as anyone who’s anyone is welcome aboard. Athletes from all walks of life within the sports communities in Egypt will be coming along in the event, and others who may not be necessarily athletic are encouraged to participate, be it for fitness reasons, a joyous journey, or simply for some exciting camaraderie as you partake in a strenuous yet rewarding journey together.
With the second challenge finishing off atop Galala Mountain, make sure to soak in the alluring spectacle of the Red Sea of Sokhna, as its waters stretch out, boasting its overwhelming might and beauty. And we’re not done yet! After this challenging journey of sweat and endurance, the event will be ending with a bang at the Javelin Sports Club, as surprises within the Ilbosco Project await the participants.
