FIFA World Cup Trophy Is Coming to Cairo and All Thanks Goes To Coca-Cola!
To celebrate Egypt qualifying for the FIFA World Cup since 28 years ago, Coca-Cola is bringing us the historic trophy! Under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports, The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will arrive in Cairo on March 15th and depart on March 17th.
This will be the third time in history for Egypt to qualify and no doubt, Egyptian football fans will unite in pride as Egypt becomes ready for greatness in 2018. The trophy tours more than 50 countries, to give millions of dedicated football fans the chance to get ready for the most anticipated event in the world.
FIFA President, Gianni Infantine, stated “In the world of sports, no symbol stands stronger than the FIFA World Cup Trophy. Everyone recognizes the significance of the Trophy as a unifying force. We are extremely happy to partner with Coca-Cola once again to bring the Trophy to football fans around the world.”
The trophy will live everyone’s dream; as it will literally travel the whole world. It will travel around 126,000 kilometers, 50 countries in the six continents, in the nine months from September 2017 and until the 2018 FIFA World Cup. It’ll arrive in Cairo from the Ivory Coast and will leave to Naples, Italy for a quick Euro tour before crossing thousands of miles and landing in Latin America’s Argentina.
His Excellency, Khaled Abdel Aziz, the Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, stated “Egypt is very honored to welcome the FIFA World Cup Trophy this year, especially since our national football team qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. We are confirming our full support towards this national celebration which highlights Egypt’s abilities to unite and achieve greatness by playing in the World Cup.” adding that “Our national football team has been able to ignite the enthusiasm of the Egyptians to achieve a long-awaited dream of 28 years, and we look forward to watching them exert their utmost efforts during the World Cup.”
In a similar manner, Coca-Cola Egypt General Manager, Karim Salah Eldin, said “Egypt has finally qualified for the World Cup after a 28-year wait. When Egyptians unite, they make history. 2018 will witness Egyptians coming together for the FIFA World Cup. Therefore, Coca-Cola is bringing the Trophy to Egyptians who will not get the chance to travel to Russia and watch their national team compete.”
Coca-Cola is organizing a variety of activities that will take place on March 15th – 16th to celebrate the Trophy’s arrival in Cairo. Activities will provide the opportunity for the public, youth in specific, to see and meet with the FIFA World Cup Trophy in addition to a wider media outreach activity for all football fans in Egypt.
