At Least 3 People Died in Saudi Arabia Flash Floods
It has been reported that Mecca, Saudi Arabia has been hit by massive floods. To ensure the safety of students, schools and universities have been suspended on Tuesday — a tweet by Mecca’s General Director of Education announced on Monday.
General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection warned of extreme weather conditions in several regions in Saudi Arabia. Big sandstorms are expected to blowall over Qassim and the western part of Riyadh.

Education representatives in Taif and Jeddah has announced the suspension of schools in all levels, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). Heavy rainstorms are predicted in Madinah and Mecca regions, including the coastal areas.
The weather agency also expects heavy to moderate rain with dust and sandstorms to occur over Tabuk, the Northern Border, Al Jouf and Hail.
The Directorate of Civil Defense advised all citizens to avoid places that are flooded and to stay away from any riverbanks. Rain usually entice citizens in Saudi Arabia to go outside for fun (as it is a rare occurring), however, the flood tragedy of 2009, where countless lives were lost, has been disturbing to the country.
UPDATE: It has been reported by Khaleej Times that three people died in the flash floods that were triggered by heavy rains on Tuesday. According to Saudi Gazzette, however, one of them lost their lives due to electrocution in Jeddah.
