Watch How Dubai Opera Transformed itself for BBC Proms
Classical music fans wait every single summer for BBC Proms, an eight-week summer season of daily orchestral classical music concerts that are held annually. The Proms are usually held in London, UK, but this year it’s going to be held in Dubai.
This is the only second time for BBC Proms to be hosted outside of the United Kingdom! Thus, this four-day program is a once in a lifetime event for classical music fans in the Arab World.
To prepare for the BBC proms this week in Dubai; Dubai’s Opera transformed itself from a 2,000-seat arena to a 2,000sqm floor space. The opera has just opened six months ago and the very fact that it’s hosting the BBC Proms is quite huge.
Last year’s BBC proms in London had an evening dedicated to the Legendary Jazz Producer Quincy Jones.
Elgar, Debussy and Shostakovich, among others by the BBC Symphony Orchestra, are expected to perform.
WE SAID THIS: If you’re a classical music fan, make sure not to miss this once in a lifetime opportunity! Book your spot here.
