Viral Visual: DJ Earworm’s Annual Pop Mashup Has Landed

DJ Earworm has released his seventh annual “United States of Pop”, a mashup of this year’s biggest hits – the ones you’ve been singing for months now, first excitedly and now automatically just because they’ve been so damn overplayed.

Called “Do What You Wanna Do” from Maroon 5‘s “Animals”, the song and equally remixed video features the 25 most popular songs from 2014 in the U.S. according to Billboard’s weekly Hot 100 charts.

And as usual, it either reflects the schizophrenia of pop culture or reinforces the point that all pop music sounds the same.
